I've been upset since yesterday, I was like....I'M Finally going to get my life back, because I'm so scared when people cough in front of me at stores etc.

My daughter had an appoint. at 4pm yesterday to get her h1n1 mist vaccine and she arrives, and they told her that "they ran out" we have had this appointment as of last week, I'm so upset!

Yes, this is what is going on at most...my doctor is having them set aside for appts made first and not those walk in or later appts after others...I have to wait another week though to get any because my baby needs his other half of his flu shot..

Umm... you haven't been listening to the TV or what? I think it was said they only sent like 20 vaccines to each larger clinic around the US because they still do not have enough and they say you probably will not be able to get one until after December. Unless of course your child has a compromised immune system.

I am so sorry for your frustration.   The fact you had an appt and then was told "sorry" is totally unprofessional.   I hate that you have been so upset and that it has runied your day/week. Hopefully you will be able to get vaccinated very soon :-)

Is the flu prevalent in your area?  If not, then I think everything will be Ok, just be sure to wash hands alot and not touch your face because that is how most of the germies are spread.  Also, I heard that if you gargle with salt water 2x per day that really helps to kill any germs that may be in your mouth and throat.

If this makes you feel any better the doctors I have been listening to have said at this point that you should be more worried about the regular seasonal flu than of the H1N1 flu.  They said that H1N1 is losing momentum.  Some doctors are even questioning the safety of the H1N1 vaccines.  Here's a doctor talking about that:

My dr does not even have it yet.  And on a similar note, they are out of the seasonal flu vaccine because they ran out as shipments are delayed.  So they cancelled my appointment

Yes, I know there is a shortage, however as herd89 said I had an appointment that was really unprofessional, they should have set them aside.

Luckily My doctors office will be giving all of us the "mist" vaccine on Halloween I had to swithch my daughters ins plan to "mercy" luckily they let me do it since this month is almost over whew!

I'm not even sure the doctors offices in our area are getting the vaccine to give out to the public (in Des Moines, IA), to get it you pretty much have to go through the county; they hold "clinics" in a public place (such as a large building at the state fairgrounds) whenever they get a shipment.  There it's first come, first serve for whoever meets the requirements, as long as you are willing to wait in line.

Our pediatrician doesn't have either of them.  I don't much mind as we aren't planning on getting them anyhow.

I'm so sorry Huskermom98!

No, my doctor has plenty of the mist vaccine but you have to be insured with "mercy" and he only has the mist which gives you more protection than the shot because it's a live virus that's weakened, so it gives you more immunity plus it doesn't have thermosal in it either.

My doctor's office never had it! They haven't even gotten it for the healthcare workers yet and they have seen 1000 people in the past 3 weeks - so ridiculous!

Even more ridiculous that they called the CDC to see where they were on the list and the Kroger "little" clinic was before them - a clinic that has nurse practioners doling out the shot, not MD's! Even the CDC guy said it was because Kroger was probably able to pay their way to the top of the list!

I can't believe how annoyed I am for my doctor! LOL
